Recently for Chorus I had to go to graduation and sing as part of a mandatory assignment. I wasn’t too happy that I had to stay till around nine at night on the last day of school but then it resulted on a shopping trip to get the outfit we had to wear. My chorus teacher asked that we wear either khaki pants and a white shirt or we go with a nice simple white dress. We were aloud to wear any shoes and accessories we wanted so that allowed me to have fun and play with making an outfit. I always hear about how hard the hunt for a perfect white dress can be but I was able to find my dress within one day after looking in two stores that didn’t have the dress for me. Almost my entire outfit came from Rue 21, the shoes came from Marshalls. I was kind of glad that singing at graduation resulted in me getting an absolutely beautiful dress which is also perfect for this amazing upcoming summer.

When you look at this outfit you may not see much bohemian because of the jewelry. The dress alone is sort of Bohemian because of the flower print lace and because of how it flows. It’s loose and free and if I paired it up with a dream catcher necklace or a head band that ran across my forehead you would be able to see the bohemian. Instead of going that route I went with a more glitzy side because I love my shiny things. I went with this necklace because it was long and brought in a lot of attention to the top of the dress and kind of added a surprising element since people wouldn’t really expect to take a dress such as this one in that sort of direction. The earrings match the necklace perfectly but what I love about them is how they look like they are floating and not connected to my ear! The bracelets had to have some white incorporated into them because then it would be too much gold. I did the same thing with adding white to the shoes because it added more attention to the outfit and jewelry rather than the feet and it didn’t over power the outfit with more gold. These shoes were very comfortable for having a small heel on them. I was able to walk around all day without feeling any foot pain! I was able to look glitzy with a dash of bohemian without walking around as if I was a new born horse trying to stand up for the first time.

Simple Grocery Shopping Outfit

Simple Grocery Shopping Outfit by teen fashion blog featuring a leather bracelet

People know me well for always going shopping, but there is certain things I just can’t stand shopping for, groceries. Grocery shopping is boring especially since I don’t get to ride in the cart anymore like when I was little.  Sometimes if I was especially adorable that day the people at the bakery would even give me a free cookie. Now grocery shopping consists of me walking around aisles looking for food that I have seen a hundred times already, but the worst part is I can’t even eat it yet. The only excitement I get is when we get to the make up aisle. <> Every Sunday it’s a debate with my sister over who gets the “pleasure” to shop for food. If it was shopping for clothes, my hand would fly up as quick as Katniss Everdeen’s went up and say “I volunteer”. Of course I do get to go all the time because my sister doesn’t like shopping, she would rather stay home and do chores.

Something I always do before shopping is try to figure out what to wear. Some people don’t really care what they look like when they go out, but I never know who I could find at one of these stores. One time, during one of our shopping outings I was approached by a modeling scout. From then on, I knew I had to look good and dress like I’m trying to make an impression for that same scout wherever I go. I know, it’s ridiculous! I usually dress casual when I go out yet I like to keep it stylish at the same time. I created this outfit because it definitely looks like something I would wear to go out grocery shopping. The dress is a light denim material with a polka dot pattern on it. The dress has the overalls top, I don’t like that look but somehow this dress makes it work and it looks pretty. Especially like the neckline of the orange cropped tee that you can wear to fall over your shoulder. That little detail makes the outfit better because it’s not expected. The tights ties up the belt, purse, and shoes to the outfit. Plus, I’ve done some more pattern play with the polka dot pattern over a striped pattern. The lace socks over the boot and tights are super adorable and break up all the brown going on at the bottom. I used blue for the jewelry because there was already too much brown and orange going on, the blue helped break it up. There is certain shopping I like, and certain shopping I dread. What type of shopping do you like or hate doing?
