Style Cravings: Fanny Packs?!

Style Cravings: Fanny Packs

Some of you probably looked up at the title and thought I was completely out of my mind…well I promise you I’m not so please bare with me. I’ve been looking back at a few runway pictures and styles and something that I saw reoccurring a few times were stylish fanny packs. This caught me by surprise because I never thought a fanny pack would ever get into style. When I think of fanny pack I see a male tourist wearing sunglasses, sunscreen on his nose, a striped polo, cargo shorts that go higher on his waist than supposed to which is held by a belt, high socks, sunburned skin despite the fact he has sunscreen on his nose, and of course a fanny pack that holds his camera and perhaps even tickets to a certain place. I always told myself I would never be that person who wore a fanny pack everywhere, at least that was till I saw a few of these cute little packs that can not only compliment an outfit, but it can even enhance it!

What I love about these Fanny Packs is that they don’t look like your typical fanny packs. These have cute little belts that hold the pack up instead of some ugly strap. Also the pack isn’t some odd shape that is kept in the front, these look like adorable wallets that are often put off to the side or dangling. I really wouldn’t mind wearing one of these fanny packs because they can conveniently hold things, can make an outfit look cuter, and you don’t have to worry about losing it or getting it stolen if it’s around your waist at all times. I really do hope these kind of fanny packs start coming into style and I start seeing them in stores because I will definitely jump up on this trend. The only thing I don’t like about the fanny pack is the name itself, it just sounds so weird. How about Style pack? Waist purse? I may need to work on a better name to call them.

I’m A Sinner Series: Pride Outfit

I'm A Sinner Series: Pride Outfit

When I think of pride I image someone who is over flowing with confidence but not in a good way. People with a lot of pride like to have a lot of attention on them and make themselves seem all that. It’s okay to have some pride but having too much can be a problem. We all have known people who like to be quite the show offs and who think they are better than everyone else and that kind of makes us mad. We’ve all also had our moments where we’ve shown a little bit more pride than we need to.

I created an outfit for Pride by using lots of vibrant colors and pieces that catch people’s attention. Here I made sure to use lots of neon colors. Colorful things always call attention such as sparkly things, but I thought that mixing the two would be a little too much and too flashy. I used the blazer as my central piece and created an outfit around it. The blazer had so many colors that it wasn’t too difficult to work with. I mean if I saw someone wearing this outfit I know my attention would be completely on them.

Metallic Fashion Series: Silver Lining

Metallic outfit teen fashion blog

I’m back with the Metallic Series that I interrupted because of FFF (Fab Fifty Friday). Recently I have done two outfits with gold, a silver outfit, and a metallic blue outfit. I love the way metallic look, especially when you stand in the light and all you can do is shine and look glamorous. Plus I’m the type of girl who likes attention, a metallic piece of clothing attracts that attention I’m looking for.

I decided to use a silver short for this outfit to make it a bit more casual. When I saw this shorts, all I could think was I need them! I have lived in warm climates all my life (14 long years), over the years I have come to appreciate shorts and how they keep you cooler. Along with the shorts I added a purple tweed blazer to go on top. I chose this blazer because it has some silver details in it and since it is mostly purple it tones down what could be a shocking silver look with the shorts. The addition of the blazer makes the outfit more elegant and gives unity to the look. The shoes are purple with little details on the front to add some fun to the outfit. The purse is purple as well and it has a cute paisley print which adds some variety. The jewelry is all silver and purple which ties up everything into one piece. I love how purple and silver go together. I love that color combination so much that my room is full of purple, silver, and white.

I can see that growing a teen fashion blog requires lots of dedication and patience. Although I blog because I really enjoy putting outfits together and sharing them with everybody the truth is that I’m also looking to gain followers, not for egotistical reasons but in hopes that a college will notice me and offer me a scholarship. Followers are not coming as fast as a 14-year-old teen would like which can be a little disheartening. The silver lining of the week was that I was chosen as one of the “Brilliant Blogger Set of the Week” by Polyvore.com for my Silver Rights Movement set, which was super exciting and brought a couple of visitors to the site.

Only two more metallic sets to go for this series. Hoping you are enjoying it as much as I am.

The Fox Says Style

A few months ago a YouTube video was uploaded all the way from Norway and instantly went viral. It’s called ” What does the fox say?” by Ylvis. The song may sound stupid but that’s what brings a smile to my face. The video includes a man singing about how no one knows what the fox sounds like and ends up creating all these outrageous sounds that the fox says. The video ends with an animated singing fox running off leaving the audience wondering . I know it sounds dumb but once you hear it, it gets stuck in your head. I must admit I must be partly crazy to find something so odd amusing. This outfit was created in honor of the fox, I made sure to use the colors you would find in a typical fox’s fur. The sweater features a fox at the top and an orange necklace that looks like a collar. The orange cropped trousers add some fun to the outfit and tie the necklace and the fox on the sweater together. The Fedora, watch, purse, and sun glasses are all orange as well to add the youth element to the outfit. The earrings are actually blocks with all the colors of the outfit. The shoes have mostly gray in them to break up all the orange going on in the outfit already. So what is the fox saying to you?
