Every year when I go to Open House I always make sure to dress up. Just like when going to an interview for a job, you make sure to look good because it’s all about first impressions. I like my teachers to think that I am well put together and organized because that is what they are going to think of me when I walk into school on the first day. I enjoy getting ready for something since the whole summer I stayed in shorts and a t-shirt most of the time. What I like most about the outfit is the pastel colors paired up with the darker colors. I love the light pink and gold color and how it contrasted so well with each other. I also loved the long striped cardigan over the outfit, it added visual interest.

How do you guys like my hair? I cut it a few weeks back, but it’s a lot shorter now. I have to admit I get frustrated sometimes when trying to style it, but it looks good in the end. It feels so good not having to manage so much hair. 🙂 Besides a change now and then is not bad. What do you think?

I’ve Got your Back…Pack: 2014 Back to School Backpacks

Just a few days ago I was watching TV and all of a sudden a demonic commercial came up. Tales of kids going back to school! I had to cover my ears it was so scary! Kids around the world are crawling up into little balls in hope that the summer is not yet over. It almost feels as if we just started our summer break and they have decided to start recruiting us back to that child jail! I’m definitely not ready to go back to school. I got used to sleeping in and doing nothing. I remember at the beginning of the summer I couldn’t wait to go back to school because I had already missed all my friends. I was getting a little antsy since I didn’t really have anything to keep me busy. What I am looking forward to is being able to meet new people and make new friends. I’m also excited to start show choir this year! I’m not looking forward to all the homework I’m going to end up with every night!

The only thing that cheers me up when I hear back to school is the shopping. I like being able to get new outfits that I can wear to school because it’s a lot of fun to style them. One of my favorite parts of shopping is looking for the backpack. I get backpacks based on size, look, and quality! I like a backpack that can hold a lot of things and won’t break, makes it a lot easier on me. Looking for a backpack is different for me because with clothes you wear something different every day. Backpacks you usually wear every day to school so you want something really cute that will last you.

I went online book bag shopping and decided to share my discoveries with you! I found a lot of cute bags all at different prices. Since everyone has their own price range, I decided to separate the book bags by price. I went through a lot of online stores looking for book bags and looking for all price ranges. I found a lot of different book bags that all look very nice! I also divided each price category for different styles. There is casual, sporty, black staple, elegant, whimsical, and stripes.

The first category we have is the $0-$25 price range. Just because you may be on a budget doesn’t mean that you still can’t get a nice looking bag. I have actually found multiple book bags that are super cute within this price range. Here’s a tip for those who have a budget: sale and clearance shopping is key! Just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean it will be any less cuter than some of the other things on display.

The next category is the $25.01-$50 price range. Since it’s a higher price range, you will get better quality bags and a lot of nice designs. This category was one of the easiest to find book bags for. For this price range hitting great sales can help you a lot as well.

This continuing category is the $50.01-75 price range. When I started looking through this category I started to get amazed with how cute some of these bags are!

Next category is from the $75.01-$100 price range. This category has one of my favorite back packs. I fell in love with the one that’s all white and has a cute black bow on it. It’s from Macy’s for $80.99.

The second to last category is the $100.01-$250 price range. There are so many cute book bags in this category! They all look designer…well maybe because they are.

The very last category is the $250.01 and up price range. I know what you’re thinking, isn’t a little absurd to spend hundred of dollars on a book bag? Well, some people can afford thousand dollar book bags, and for those people I made this category. But I will say that these book bags are super cute and I love each and every one of them!

Teen Fashion: Don’t Cry, Blue Skies Outfit

Do you want to know what I don’t understand? Blue is a color that can represent sadness ( I feel blue), I don’t understand why they used that color for feeling sad because there are a lot of people who like this color. I have a lot of friends and family whose favorite colors are blue, or at least branched to blue in a way, such as teal. I have to admit I like the color a lot, if you were to look into my closet you would find a lot of blue shirts and blouses. I love the color blue because it goes with so many colors, why do you think people wear blue jeans all the time?

I was looking for the next outfit to take a picture of and I kept thinking to myself that I needed to be creative. It took me a while to finally realize to put two different patterns but the same color. I used a dark blue and black striped shirt and a checkered dress for the outfit. Yes, I did say dress. If you have an old strapless dress that does not fit length wise, get creative and turn it into a skirt. All you need to do is role the top half of the dress down to your waist, but make sure it’s not all bulged at the bottom. I also used these light blue shoes, they almost look purple. I thought this outfit was great because it’s fun and interesting to look at. It’s something different that many people don’t tend to think about. Honestly, not many people would think to put blue on blue on blue. The accessories are simple because there is already so much going on in the outfit. Just a simple silver chain necklace and studs will do.

I wanted to take a second to talk about the photo shoot. We decided to take it at an airport near the house where they have a lot of smaller planes. When we went there, this very kind man allowed us to take pictures by one of the planes. He was so nice and helpful! I didn’t think we were going to be able to get in and do it, but he let me pose beside the plane. He even let me get into it and try on the headsets. Not the ideal accessory for the outfit, but still lots of fun to wear. I was so overwhelmed with happiness that I could not stop smiling or laughing, which was good for the photos. I was so interested in the plane and I could not believe I was actually there posing next to and inside the plane. I was kind of hoping a little that he was going to offer me a quick plane ride, but that was getting my hopes way to high.

Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 Trends

Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trends

Fashion Week recently ended, so as a teen fashion blogger I feel I have to share the trends that came about among the designers. I looked for many things that might have been popular among all the collections shown. Today I’m going to talk about the three main categories that stood out to me. These categories are colors, patterns, and the main fabrics that they used.

This year’s fall colors are black, gray, white, red, and navy blue. The main color that was used among the designers was black. I made sure to include one example of each color at the top. I also wrote down the designers that created that certain outfit so that if you wanted to, you could go ahead and take a look at what else they made. I loved these colors and I believe that these outfits in those colors are just amazing.

Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 Pattern Trends

As for patterns, this Fashion Week I noticed a lot of plaid, among the collections. Tommy Hilfiger to me honestly did the best with plaid. I’m not usually into wearing sporty clothing, but I could make an exception for his line. All of his clothes were to die for. I also noticed a few different floral patterns, I thought that was pretty interesting for a fall collection. There were many different collections that had polka dots or stripes in them. Leopard print was pretty big among the clothing as well, I loved this dress by Badgley Mischka that’s at the top. Between the slit in the front and the leopard pattern, it was a fun dress yet elegant at the same time.

Fashion Week fall/Winter 2014 Fabric Trends

As for the fabrics, I’m really glad I have a good amount of faux leather clothing in my closet because I’m going to need it for the fall. It felt like there was leather in every show, it was a leather invasion! Fur was really big as well, there were all sorts of colors and prints on the catwalk which was really cool to see. I felt like Betsy Johnson did the best with the colored fur, the colors were so weird yet cool at the same time. Fur accessories were very big too, I can’t tell you all the times that I saw a model carrying around a fur purse. Shiny fabrics and metallic fabrics were really popular as well among the designers. Sheer was really big as well, I saw multiple dresses, skirts, and shirts that had sheer and they looked lovely. I’m honestly a fan of the sheer fabric, I think that as long as you have a tank top under it can add a cool look. Plus a lot of sheer clothing flows well and I like that.

Even though this gets a little out of the categories, I wanted to make sure that I mentioned that I saw a lot of the models wearing crop tops. They were styling them in all sorts of cool ways. There were models that wore crop tops under a nice sheer shirt, some wore them over shirts, under blazers, under shirts that have a lot of cut outs in them, and much more ways. I found it interesting to see how the designers styled the crop tops in weird ways that I have not seen before. I know that I’m not very comfortable with crop tops cause I’m not big on showing skin, yet I am open to try the different ways to use one.
