A Gold Dress and Golden Opportunities

It’s been a while since I’ve last spoken to you all and kept you updated on what’s been going on in my life so I’m going to take this post to cover just that. I can’t say that too much has changed but there are a couple things worth mentioning.

In late July I started my first job working as a cashier working at a local pizza place. I loved it when I first started working and I’m still loving it now. I’ve always been the kind of girl who preferred to be doing work over sitting at home doing nothing productive (although I’ve admittedly slept in till noon all this thanksgiving break; been a while since I’ve been able to do so). Through the time I’ve been working I’ve become really close friends with all of the other teenagers that work there and it can be a lot of fun since my job has a pretty laid back attitude about it.Another positive side is that most nights I do pretty well in tips on top of my usual pay. The only true downside to my job would be cleaning the bathrooms, you won’t believe some of the horror stories I’ve experienced trying to get those stalls looking nice. Don’t worry though, I’ll spare you some of those stories so I won’t strip you of your goodnight’s sleep. All in all though, it has been an amazing experience and I wouldn’t give that or the people I’ve met up for anything.

School wise not much has changed. I’m still taking honors and AP classes as well as my usual show choir class. I will say that some of my AP classes have been obstacles at times but none have been a greater obstacle than taking on a leadership position in show choir. I’ll just leave it at it’s hard being at the top no matter what method of leadership you use because it’ll never agree with everyone. I’ve had a hard time accepting that because I like to make sure that everyone is happy but I’ve come to find that that won’t always be the case. I still love the class, don’t get me wrong. I can never give up singing and dancing no matter how hard it gets, it’s just something that truly appeals to me and makes me happy. It’s hard to tell me that you would pass up the ability to perform to an 80’s hits medley if you were given the chance.

I’m going to stop rambling about my personal life now and tell you a bit about my homecoming outfit because it’s too good to not tell. I found everything I needed (really just the shoes and the dress) in one shopping day. My mom pulled out this gold dress out of the clearance section at Charlotte Russe and we both pretty much died instantly at the sight of the dress. We had multiple options in our head already but we decided to get the dress anyways because it said it was only $15, I wasn’t about to leave it for that price. When we went to check out the lady had told us it was marked down further to $5.90! I’m sorry but this was basically a steal! Our next priority then became searching for shoes in which we found a nice pair of gold heals at the JCPenny clearance section for $15. What I’m basically saying is yes, I did get a dress and shoes for homecoming for less than $25. I’m not gonna lie, I was a happy girl that day. Not only did I save a lot of money, but I felt like I was walking down the red carpet everywhere I went while at homecoming (it was far from the red carpet, it was more like a sweaty gym but you get where I’m coming from). In all I had an amazing night of just dancing and singing “Wrecking Ball” at the top of my lungs with my friends and ending the night with a sleepover that consisted of watching Legally Blonde and Clueless. Definitely a night to remember, now I just gotta wait for Prom to come around!

I’m Finally a Senior!

After three interesting years of high school, I am quickly approaching my final year at a pace I’m not too comfortable with. With being a senior comes a lot of responsibilities and tasks that need to be checked off the to-do list. There are campus tours that need to be done, capstone projects that need to be started, SATs to study for as well as take, applications to send off to colleges, senior dues to pay off, a GPA to keep up, a show choir to lead now that I’ve been appointed captain (I’m super stoked about this), and on top of all that, balance a job on my plate. I will say that trying to write this list down got me breathing a little heavier, but every senior has to go through this. I should be able to do it too.

From the list, I’ve started campus tours. I visited Kennesaw State University a few weeks ago. I didn’t take any pictures, which I currently regret, because I was like a kid in a candy store. The campus is super cool and KSU seemed technologically advanced and offers good programs. In a few days I will be visiting the University of Georgia and I’m quite excited to see what’s in store. Another exciting milestone is that I started working. My first official job! I work as a cashier at a local pizza restaurant and I’ve been loving it. I’m the kind of person who will take working over sitting at home watching TV any day! Plus as a cashier I also take in orders, so it’s been definitely helping me build confidence when speaking to new people and enhancing my customer service skills.

A project that I’ve recently started is starting to take my senior pictures. I still have yet to sign up with a studio to get both my yearbook and cap and gown pictures. When it comes to the scenes my mom and I decided to do our own, ones that catered more to who I am and backgrounds that express the real Allyson. Like everything I do, I like to add a bit of a twist. My mom and I thought it would be a good idea to do some pictures at home since it’s where I live and spent my entire high school life in. We decided to do more of a high fashion shoot for my pictures, so we waited on a rainy day to take some cool shots. What I like about the pictures is that they have a range from almost playful to something a little gothic. I look like one of those chicks from horror movies who’s about to haunt someone (honestly those shots were my personal favorite). The rest of my senior picture scenes are still yet to be taken and ideas are still being brought to the table. Honestly, I think I need a scene surrounded by Disney characters. Those who know me will tell you that Disney movies make up my life. What can I say? I’m still a five year old at heart, despite the fact, I may need to face some responsibilities that require a tad bit of growing up.

Teen Fashion: Denim Weather

DSC_3042_2

DSC_3032_1

DSC_3038_1Something that has really sparked my attention lately is how many endless creations can be done using denim. I love how there can be different shades and how they can come either in pant, shirt, or even shoe form! Last year I got these denim shoes and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve played around with them. Something else I love about denim is that they can go with just about anything. You can even do denim on denim as long as you play with it right. I looked into how the weather is going to be this week in Georgia and it ranges from sixty degrees to eighty degrees. You can never really tell how hot or cool it’s going to be so I thought back to this outfit. It will sure be convenient for the week because the skirt will keep you cool but the vest will keep you warm depending on the temperature. Something else I would like to point out in this outfit is pattern play. I always hear about people who are afraid to mix patterns such as polka dots and plaid but as you can see in this outfit it truly can work out as long as you do it right. I think it’s always best to push some boundaries and mix it up a little. Sometimes when you experiment with clothes a little you can end up with something super stylish and fun.

FFF: Fab 50 Friday

FFF: Fab Fifty Friday

Now there has been this thing on social media that’s been trending called #TheDress. Now I’m a fashionista so naturally I was pretty curious about what it was. I had people all over my twitter posting about this dress. Now I just saw a black and blue dress so I didn’t see what the big deal was. Then I started reading the comments and found out that some people saw the dress color to be white and gold. I thought this was insane because all over social media people were fighting back and forth about what color the dumb dress was. Further curious, I walked over to my parents that night and asked them what color they saw. Apparently I’m the only one in my house who saw the dress as black and blue. We had a miniature family war over what color we saw. I did some reading into how it was possible for certain people to see one color and other people see another color. I read things from someone’s mood affecting what color you see to people claiming that it has to do with being some sort of color blind. I mean this lasted about a week guys! It was crazy how much attention this silly dress got and how much conflict it caused. There were even celebrities such as Taylor Swift joining the trend posting what colors they saw.

download

I also own this game called Crossy Road on my phone. I really love the app and find it quite fun, especially when i’m bored. The objective of the game is to try and cross as many roads as a character without dying. One is able to unlock different characters. I had almost all the characters and then I found out there was this update that would open up more characters so I got the update to challenge myself some more. I started looking through the different characters and what do I see? One of the characters I saw…. was #TheDress! I kid you not! This crazy dress got so much attention that it even get’s it’s own character on a popular game! When you play as this character the dress changes from black and blue to white and gold each time you play it! It’s absurdly cool!

crossy-road

Now you may be thinking I created this outfit using #TheDress as inspiration but I assure you that is not the case. I created the outfit and then after taking a good look at it I made a little joke inside my head. I told myself “is the dress white and gold…or do some people see black and blue?” Yes I know it’s a silly joke but I thought it would make for quite the interesting post, especially for those who have no idea what it is. To be completely honest the first thing I thought about when I saw the completed outfit was how it looked like something one of the Kardashians would wear because they seem to wear a lot of white. I mean I don’t blame them, the color looks good on them.

Now I do want to point out that this outfit ended up being a bit more than fifty dollars but how could I not post it? I thought it was too good of an outfit to waste. Now usually I would try and avoid crop tops as much as possible because I was very self conscious about exposing too much skin or if that would look trashy. I have recently discovered that crop tops are not a bad thing as long as you know how to dress it right and make it look more stylish and classy without the intention being to expose a lot of skin. I have found that high waisted bottoms look better with crop tops. That’s why I included a high waisted skirt with the crop top. Yes you may expose a little bit of skin but it doesn’t look trashy, it’s still pulled off as classy. The heels are lace and expose almost a brownish goldish tone which is where I combined the earrings to match. What I love about this all white outfit is that you can put pretty much any jewelry and it will still match. You can use vibrant colors to make the outfit fun or use subtle colors to keep it more elegant. Look at the picture of the dress and leave a comment telling me what colors you see. I would love to see how many people see one color over the other.

Teen Fashion: Let’s Go To The Movies Ally!

DSC_2292_12

About a month ago I was invited by my friends to go out to the movies in order to celebrate both my birthday and another friend of mine who also shared a birthday in August. We decided that we all wanted to see Guardians of the Galaxy because a lot of kids at my school were talking about how amazing it was. I was super pumped because I always love going to the movies to hang out with my friends. To be completely honest I don’t care for watching the actual movie, I enjoy being able to talk to my friends and I really enjoy movie theater popcorn! Is it just me or does anyone else have an obsession for movie theater popcorn? One of my friends gave me a ride to the movies and it was super fun chilling with them in the car… and we may or may not have sung along to fancy while we were in the car. There are two different movie theaters near where I live and on our ride to the movies, my friend’s grandma accidentally took us to the wrong one. Good thing we left early, because that gave us enough time to drive to the other one and get their on time. One minute later and we would have been late. When we got there we immediately ran out of the car because we saw how long the lines were and we had ten minutes to get tickets before the movie started. Standing in line was pretty cool because the rest of my friends were already there so we just talked about what was new since not all of us went to the same school. After we got our tickets we ran to the popcorn and drink station to fill up our buckets and cups. When I went to go get my usual slushy, (which was a mixture of cherry and coke) they ran out of both flavors! I was sort of upset because I don’t get my slushy fixing unless I go to the movies. So what was I forced to do? I had to get the blue raspberry flavor! How inhumane is that! The world must have been ending! Well that’s what I thought before I tried it. It actually turned out to taste pretty good, not as good as my cherry coke mixture though. Turns out my friends and I know how to hustle when it comes to having ten minutes to get everything together because we made it just seconds before the movie started.

Now it’s time for a movie review!!! I give the movie 3.5 stars out of 5. Now this is pretty good on my rating scale because in order to get 5 stars you gotta be a top notch movie. What I liked about the movie was that it had pretty much everything you could ask for. You’ve go a bit of romance thrown in, scenes that pull at the heart strings, comedy, and tons of action! Now I’m a girl who prefers to see a good battle before a mush love story. If the fight is done well and the action is very engaging then count me in! This movie had a good amount of action and I also enjoyed a lot the funny tidbits that they threw in to keep the audience engaged. After watching that movie my friends and I kept saying “we are groot.” For the sake of spoilers I’ll make sure not to tell you the reason for why we continue to say to this day but it’s pretty cute. I also give credit to the soundtrack that they used! I love 80’s music and that pretty much makes up the soundtrack that is used. I will also admit that I am guilty of singing along to a couple of the songs, but hey! I couldn’t help it, I had to!

I decided to wear a dress to the movies because I knew that we were going to be taking plenty of group pictures. Now I will admit that it’s and odd choice in order to go watch a marvel movie, but there are no laws against it so YOLO! Yes, I am aware that I am the only teenager left on this planet who still uses yolo. No, I don’t care that I’m the only teenager left because I like how it sounds. Now the dress I wore has a tie-dyed sort of look to it. I usually don’t like tie-dyed clothing but I liked how cool it looked with the blue. I also liked how the back was cut out in a v cut. My favorite part of the dress is how flowy it is! I love twirling in it so much because I get to look at the skirt fly up and spin around. I can’t spin too much though because it’ll fly way up too much… that wouldn’t be good at all, quite embarrassing actually. To add some more flare to the dress, I added a white belt with silver circles on it. I know, the pattern play is quite on point if you ask me. The jewelry I kept pretty simple. Some stud crystal earrings, a simple silver chain necklace, and a cuff with white and silver. My shoes were white sandals. This outfit may look a little simple but it also looks very stylish and you can wear it for many other occasions other than to go to the movies. Say you want to walk around town, go on a date, or attend a nice family gathering, this outfit is perfect for those reasons and more.

The post today it’s an accurate representation of how intense my week was. This is only the second week of school and I have been going to bed past 11 PM every day and that’s just homework for God’s sakes! Going back to school can take a toll on your overall emotional wellness. It is not only the stress of classes and grades and fitting in, but it also means having to deal with people, the good, the bad, and the in between (the ones that just don’t care).

I understand not everybody will have my same opinions and I respect that, however that won’t stop me from dissecting other’s opinions (at least in my head). The other day at lunch, I overheard a group at the table talking about the Ebola outbreak in Africa and the two Americans that were brought back to Atlanta for medical care. I guess that because we live so close to Atlanta it was a very passionate discussion. The consensus pretty much was that the government did wrong and that they shouldn’t have brought them back to the US and risk an outbreak at home.

I couldn’t help but cringe as I heard them talk. I do realize that there is politics behind the whole decision and that it is probably more complicated than what I can even begin to imagine or understand, but in my opinion it was the right thing to do. Call me naive or stupid but to me it is an expression of moral and humanity at it’s best. That doesn’t mean I am not afraid, we all are but these kids are so consumed by their own fears that they would rather abandon people than provide a helping hand. Now, if that is not losing humanity what is? I got emotional, they were discussing the lives of two people, not lab monkeys (although that is pretty bad too). These two inconveniences and takers of their good night sleep are our citizens, our missionaries. They represent the goodwill of our nation and they represent each and every one of us. They stand up for causes that we are too scared or inconvenienced to take on. We should be grateful to them, they do the work that nobody else wants or cares to do. They are heroes! Oh, but it is so easy to criticize others. It is so easy these days to not feel empathy for others. Why!!!??? What went wrong? When as a society did we lose it? When did it start? I know it is probably a combination of my personality and my parents teachings but I feel for them, I feel for their families. I asked myself as I continued to listen to their ramblings: “I wonder if they would say the same thing if it was one of their parents/siblings/grandparents?” I felt defeated. These people are the future of this nation! What is next? No army because they are too selfish to care for anybody else?

I hope that something good comes out of this. I really do. Think about it. How long has this virus been around? How many people has it killed? Who cares, right? It was poor African people, it was not us. As we bring these two Americans home we are confronted with the realization that we have to do something. It’s not a third world country anymore, it’s us! There is money for research now, companies are willing to work on a cure now… the irony. Too poor to be saved. I apologize if we don’t share the same opinions, please know that I do respect yours and that in no way I am trying to offend anybody that differs from mine. I am so glad I got that out of my chest!

I can’t deny my mood has been somber since that conversation, so writing this post is my way of releasing those emotions to start working on my positivity again. The outfit represents my view (at least this week) of the future. A bleak, black and white one, no colors, not even gray. Good vs evil. In or out. The FAIL cap was the piece that brought everything together. We FAILED! Forget about the latest dystopic novels, in our future, there is no more humanity among or within us.

Teen Fashion: Quinceañera Fit for a Queen

Last year in the beginning of my 9th grade school year, one of my friends came to me with the idea about how she was going to have a quinceañera. I thought it was an awesome idea and that it would be great for her to have one. Moments later she then asked me to be one of her damas. Damas are pretty much the bridesmaids of the quinceañera. I was super stoked to be one. She talked about it all year and threw out some ideas. She started having some gatherings at her house so that her and all the damas could plan on the dance and the dresses we had to wear. We originally were supposed to find dates but none of us could find a date or keep a date in time for the party, so she cancelled having dates. The only person who found a date in time was the birthday girl herself which was great and needed anyways.

Two weeks before the party we started meeting up every day to learn the dance. It is tradition that at a quinceañera the damas and the birthday girl do a dance with their dates, in this case we had to do it without dates. Coming up with a good dance was sort of difficult because we all had our own opinions and some of us could and couldn’t pick up certain moves. Also it was hard to teach everybody the dance because not everybody would be at each rehearsal so we would have to go back and teach the people who weren’t there the day before. I will admit that it was pretty fun learning the dance. During our breaks we would play games like hide and go seek, we even made a Harlem Shake video just for fun.

Since I was a dama, that meant I had a very specific dress code to go under. All the damas have to look the same, so that meant wearing the same dress. We all wore a white dress that was one sleeved and had a gold piece that served as the one sleeve and had gold and silver embellishments on it. It was a fairly simple dress so it wasn’t very hard to style. We also had to wear gold, white, or silver shoes with the dresses. We were only supposed to wear minimal jewelry, which was simple silver or gold earrings. We had to have our hair up in some sort of bun, I decided to go with a messy bun to style it a bit differently. Makeup was very simple, but we had to wear a bold red lip stick color. All the damas looked great because we all made sure to stay within the dress code and we ended up looking amazing together and matched the birthday girl’s dress very well.

It came to the time of the party and all the damas were pretty nervous about the dance. I mean it’s not often you stand in front of a bunch of people and bust out your moves for their entertainment, at least not often for me. Before we got to the party we made sure to take some pictures of all the damas and the birthday girl. The first set of pictures were taken by mom because she insisted on it, I think she wanted the practice. The next round of pictures were taken by the birthday girl’s mom, we drove to some water fountains and took some nice pictures there. The next stop was the party and I was sort of freaking out and making sure I remembered the dance because I was the one who had to lead everyone into the dance, it was sort of scary for me. We got there and came in to the building in an orderly fashion. The DJ announced that birthday girl had just walked into the building and everyone started clapping. The birthday girl and the damas were seated in their own table at the front of the room, kind of like the king and queens.

quinceanera teen fashion blog damas

Just moments after sitting down we were rushed onto the floor so that we could do our dance. We had some troubles at first because the DJ started too early and he couldn’t hear us when we were telling him to rewind the song, this caused me to freak out a bit more. The track then started and I walked out and started dancing and the girls came after one by one. The dance went so smoothly and well by what I could see. Everyone seemed to remember each part and there was no trouble! That was a huge load off my shoulders. The rest of the night consisted of me rapping to “Can’t hold us”, dancing the Gangnam Style, the Cupid Shuffle, and the Electric Slide. Also they played some hispanic music to which I dance with my parents (remembering how we used to dance back in Puerto Rico). I also made sure to teach a few moves to my friends while I was at it.

quinceanera teen fashion blog damas

In all I would have to say that I did have a lot of fun. I had fun being able to hang out with my friends and just have fun and let loose. We all were dancing and smiling, I would say we all had fun. I’m mostly happy that I was able to be there for my friend on her birthday because you only turn 15 once. I would have to say that my first quinceañera was a success and I hope to be attending more in the future!

AFI Top 100 Movies #6: Singing in the Rain, the Triple Threat

singin-in-the-rain-tcm-24-4-10-kc

Me as Kathy

Me as Kathy

Today my family and I decided to get back in the swing of things and continue watching movies from the top 1oo list.  The next movie we all decided to watch was Singing in the Rain. I remember watching this movie a few times in my 8th grade chorus class but we never got to finish it. It was always fun watching it with some of the boys in that class because they would certain comments like “you see these moves” or “that leg work though” while they were dancing and for some reason it would always put a smile on my face. I also remember how every time I watched that movie a good friend of mine would copy my face when I saw Cosmo Brown’s eyes. I have to admit that I always did swoon at the sight of his eyes and guess my friend found it funny enough where he had to reenact my body language and the little shriek I made the first time I saw them. I guess I’m just a sucker for blue eyes that look like a tropical ocean! Look at this dudes eyes! I mean am I wrong?!

Screen-Shot-2014-03-04-at-9.37.15-PM (1)

I really enjoyed this movie, definitely my favorite of the top 100 that I’ve watched so far. But of course I am a musical girl so add singing and to me the movie is ten times better. I can’t tell you enough how many times I’ve watched this movie and just laughed. It’s not supposed to be a comedy but there were so many scenes that had me laughing and smiling. One of the characters that really made me laugh was Lena, Cosmo said that she was a triple threat because she couldn’t sing, dance, or act. When Lena Lamont would talk for the first time in the movie I just laugh, and when she practices her diction and says “I can’t stand em”, I try and imitate her voice. Tips on how to sound like Lena Lamont:

1. Get a sinus infection or hold your nose to where you sound nasally

2. Pronounce as many words as you can wrong (Ex. them- em  sue-syou)

3.Complain about everything

4. Say Don in almost every sentence and now you’re talking like a conceited and annoying celebrity

What I loved about this movie is how they always came across all these problems (which were all due to Lena) and they always seemed to have a plan for it, but they thought of the plan together. They seemed to stop at nothing to make sure that everything that needed to be fixed was fixed. I also loved the strong relationships between the characters. Don and Cosmo were best friends since they were children and you can see their strong bond as they grow up. Also Kathy’ s relationship with Don became more trusting as the movie went on, which isn’t really that hard seeing how the first time they met she thought that Don was a famous gangster.

Screen-Shot-2014-03-07-at-8.47.02-PM

As I watched the movie I kept looking at the 20’s fashion and I just loved all the different dresses and outfits. I just wish I had some of those dresses 3 months ago when I had to dress as a flapper for my spring chorus concert. One of my favorite outfits was this white silk dress worn by this mystery woman when Don was going through some ideas in his head. I thought it was really pretty and I just loved the shine coming from the silver rhinestones.

singin-in-the-rain-debbie-reynolds-gene-kelly-jean-hagan-2

The next outfit I absolutely loved was Lena Lamonts’s grey dress that she wore in the end. It had a lot of fluff on the bottom and crystal embellishments in the top and to me it was just gorgeous. I also loved that it was a high-low which made it pretty unique for a twenties dress.

tmb_2260_480

During one of the songs in the beginning they had shown a bunch of different outfits with different uses and there was this one plaid and yellow and plaid dress with a matching blazer to go over and the long pearls. I loved the hat that goes a long with the outfit so well! I just think that she looks so elegant and pretty!

singin27-in-the-rain-11-beautiful-girl

Another dress that was in the same song as the one above was the one that Kathy and the other girls wore while they were dancing. They wore these purple dresses that had a shiny material underneath and a sheer cover up over the top which looked really cute. I also loved how good the shoes looked with the outfit. Definitely could have worn something like that to my spring concert.

SinginInTheRain_011

When Kathy was recording a song for the Dancing Cavalier she wore this green dress that had this leaf like print. I loved how it went all the way to the neck and how the sleeves had little leaves sticking out. I also liked the way that the top and bottom connected and then had two green triangles on opposite sides. Totally something I would have worn in the twenties.

good-mornin

Another one of my favorite outfits in the movie was the dress that Kathy wore while singing Good Morning with Don and Cosmo. I just loved how the dress had a lightning bolt shape of white at the top separating the blue. I also loved how the skirt was folded. Now the shoes are just super adorable with the little bows! Totally something I would have wore! I think this dress would have also been great for my spring concert. Wish I could have worn something like this because with all the dancing Kathy did in it I know it was comfortable to Charleston to.

AFI Top 100 Movies #5: Unforgiven, A Gun Fighter’s Internal Struggle

11168035_800

screenshot-med-01

A few days ago my mom had me continue my cultural journey by watching another movie that was on the list. The next movie we watched was Unforgiven. My dad was telling me about how Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman starred in it. The minute I heard the name Morgan Freeman I was all ears. My school seems to be really obsessed with Morgan Freeman because of his voice. A lot of my friends tell me that if they had someone to narrate their life then it would be Morgan Freeman. That makes sense!

The movie goes back to the Old West. Cowboys and gun fighters roam the towns on horseback with guns in their holsters and saloons are THE place to hang out. Will Munny (Clint Eastwood) is approached by the Schofield Kid because the kid wants Will to help him kill a guy who cut up a prostitute. There was a thousand dollars reward offered by the prostitutes so he figured that with Will’s help they would be able to collect. The kid goes to Will because he has a past of killing people for money. He finds a man that “changed” his ways for his now deceased wife. In the end Will decides to go through with it because he needs the money to help raise his kids. Will had always had a partner (Ned-Morgan Freeman) when he did his killings/jobs, so he brings him along and decides to split the money three ways. The whole movie is these three men going around looking for the two guys who cut the girl up without being caught by Little Bill, the town sheriff.  No guns are allowed in Big Whiskey (town) and this is a law that Little Bill is going to enforce even if he has to kill a couple of people in the process. That guy was an idiot, I mean what cowboy isn’t going to bring a gun wherever he goes? I guess that my takeaway was the question: can a bad man really change his ways?

All through out the movie the kid, Ned, and some of the prostitutes offer Will liquor but he turns it down. He gave up drinking a long time ago because his wife wanted him to give it up as well as his bad guy past. Near the end he finds out that his best friend Ned was killed by little Bill even though Ned backed out of killing anybody. When he finds out Ned is dead he goes into town to seek revenge. When he first rides into town he drinks a bottle of whiskey and when it’s empty he throws it on the ground. This shows how some events touch a person so much that it causes them to lose sense of what is right and wrong although in my opinion he lost sense of right and wrong at the beginning of the movie when he decided to take the law into his own hands. In the movie one of the prostitutes offers him a “free one” and he turns it down because he still has loyalty to his wife. I find it cute that even though his wife was dead he still wanted to remain faithful to her, no matter what. The man had some deeply rooted convictions for some things and no moral for others. Yikes! I think that the movie is called Unforgiven because even though he acts cool about killing people, at the end of the day he really can’t forgive himself for the bad things he has done. I don’t think that there can’t be anything worst than a person’s internal guilt because conscience can be harsher than any judge out there.

I did enjoy the movie because the effects weren’t bad and the story was interesting. There was some action but for a western movie I kind of wish there was a little bit more. I also feel like the story didn’t concentrate enough on Will, Ned, and the kid but a bit more on Little Bill and his past than they needed to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they included some of his violent history but I wish they didn’t include so much. I do recommend people to watch this movie because it was a decent movie and I enjoyed putting myself into some of the characters shoes.

One of the funniest moments in the movie was when Little Bill kept calling the book about English Bob the Duke of Death the Duck of Death, the writer who showed him the book kept trying to explain to him that it said Duke but Little Bill would just ignore his little comment.

FFF: Fab 50 Friday

FFF: Fab Fifty Friday $50 outfit
FFF: Fab Fifty Friday by teen fashion blog

For years I would go shopping with my mom around the summer time in search of the perfect white summer dress for her. She never has been able to find the perfect dress she was looking for and she would always get pretty bugged about it. I have to admit, I would like a white dress for the summer myself. I just imagine how pretty a white dress would look with the blue of the ocean water in a picture. Plus white is a color that looks really good against my mom’s and I’s skin tone.

While I went online shopping for today’s Fab Fifty I found this gorgeous white skater dress with a crochet like top. I fell in love instantly and started thinking about all of the different looks I could style with that dress. White is a color that you can combine with any color and it would still like fabulous. Instead of using some ordinary expected color, I decided to give the outfit a little edge by adding denim. I guess you could say I’m sort of a risk taker. Plus I’m glad I decided to do that because it separated this outfit from a lot of other different looks and made it a little unique. I really  like making things unique so that’s why I always to try and add a little flair to my outfits.

I found the white dress at Persun mall for $23.99 and I thought that was an amazing deal! I found the purse at Target for $8.74 and that was the piece that had me pair up denim with this dress. To match the purse I added a denim sandal from Persun mall as well for $15.99. The bracelet I found at Claire’s and it finished up the look really well. I love this look because I could wear it to the movies, go out on a casual date, I could also go shopping in this. 4th of July is coming up and this would be a perfect outfit to wear to a family
