Inspiration Monday: Vintage Color Shells

Inspiration Monday: Vintage Color Shells teen fashion blog

For this Inspiration Monday I decided I was going to create an outfit using shells because just this weekend I went to Lake Lanier and saw a few shells in the water that reminded me of this picture. Lake Lanier is a big beautiful lake in Georgia which had really clear blue water and amazing things to do there.

Lake Lanier was an amazing place to go and hang out. They have a golf course, a water park, the lake, restaurants, boat rentals, stables, and camping grounds. When I went to the lake I went with a few of my parents friends and we had a lot of fun. We went and checked out the boat show that was taking place while we were there and the shore a bit. We then went and chilled out a bit by the lake in this shaded area and played horseshoes. After that we went to a different part of the lake where there were tables and ate lunch there. We also went and walked in the lake and skipped stones across the water. I was able to skip it up to four times, which was pretty good for my first time. We also rode down a hill in a wheel barrel which was one of the weirdest things we did. It was a lot of fun to see the faces of some of the people who were going down. To end the day we went to this restaurant that had a lot of seafood and I got a piña colada and some crab legs that I became a pro at opening. I had so much fun and got to experience things I have not done before which was pretty cool.

I know that when you guys take a look at the picture and then the outfit you may think that it did not fit and that you would have gone with something more nautical. When I saw this picture I thought of a vintage outfit for some reason, but I guess it may have been the colors that made me think vintage. This outfit is very 50’s inspired and girly at the same time. The dress is a brown like some of the shells and the starfish in the picture. Plus I used a simple color dress so that I could use colored accessories and it wouldn’t be too much. I also included pearls in the bracelet, earrings, and in the necklace along with a pink and green ribbon. I got the pink and green from some of the shells in the picture. I also incorporated pink in the gloves and the shoes. I also added a darker brown hat that almost looked like the orange shells. The purse I added because it had a lot of the colors from the picture and it tied all the colors together. I just love this outfit because it’s super chic and girly! I wish I could dress like that every day.

I hate to say it, but fashion week ended recently. February 13th was the last day that designers showed their creations to the public. Once fashion week has ended we all know that magazines are going to be all over the news and trends. I decided to create this Vogue outfit because it’s one of the top fashion magazines out there, and because I love the content that they publish in their magazines. I decided to include a lot of colors in this outfit because Vogue is known for the quirky high fashion looks that they always bring to the table. Also the pictures used in the dress are very chic and stylish just like a photograph you might find on the polished pages of a Vogue magazine. I made sure to keep the rest of the accessories very simple because the dress is already loud and simple accessories will keep the outfit classy and chic.

For the Love of Fashion Series: Valentine’s Day School Outfits

Valentine's day teen outfits teen fashion blog
Next week a well-known holiday is coming around, Valentine’s Day. Some people dread this holiday and others take the day to appreciate the people they love. I love Valentine’s Day because I’m a lover not a hater. Today I’m kicking off my Valentine’s Day series For the Love of Fashion and will continue to add Valentine’s day related posts throughout the week. This series will give you ideas on what to get for your special person, what to do that day, and of course tips on what to wear. Something that I struggle on every year is what I will be wearing to school that day. I always try to look special on Valentine’s Day, I have never had a boyfriend but I do like giving a good impression. I decided to help out you guys as well, I know girls have the same problem with trying to find something appropriate to wear to school. I came up with four different outfits to give each type of girl a choice. For girls who want to dress more elegant that day, the light pink outfit on the far left is perfect. The soft color palate used and modest clothing screams elegance. Girls that want to dress romantic and flirty can go with the magenta dress with the polka dot shirt under as that bow shouts “I’m girly”. Some girls have a more sporty personality and want to dress comfortably so I created an outfit with the green and orange sweater to keep that comfort. For girls that prefer a more grunge look, I created the outfit on the far right so that they can stay in their comfort zone, yet dress appropriately for that day. I know that if I were to pick an outfit out of these choices I would either go for the elegant one because I like to dress modest, or the romantic one for the spirit of the holiday. Which outfit would you choose, and why?

Frozen Grounds

Everywhere I go people are talking about the movie Frozen. The song “Let it go” has been a huge hit among us teenagers. I went to Pandora to create a Les Miserables station and after a few songs from the actual musical, some songs from Frozen started coming on. Frozen merchandise is everywhere. I found a giant Olaf at one of the stores for five hundred dollars. I have to admit I wanted the giant Olaf to keep in my room, but it is not worth five hundred dollars though. I went to see Frozen  a few weeks ago because I got tired of people saying how much they loved the movie and I had not been able to see it yet. The movie was great, it showed the power of love in some of the most unexpected ways. It also shows how important it is to show love to your family members because they are some of the closest to you, and no matter what they will always love you. The movie teaches young girls multiple life lessons. I have  learned to appreciate the people in my life and to keep them as close as I can.

I decided to make an Elisa inspired outfit because I thought her singing was great and her character was strong. Elsa transformed into a long blue dress in the beginning of the movie while creating her ice castle and singing “Let it go”. I used a short blue dress because it was a better fit for a teenage girl. I also chose ice blue shoes and a purse because Elsa did have ice powers, therefore making the color appropriate. The reason I chose to use jewelry with blue and silver crystals is because, with the earrings it looked like you would have crystals hanging from your ears. I love the colors in the jewelry because; I bet when the light hits the crystals, they will sparkle like snow does. I feel like I am more like Elsa in the movie because I am always serious. If you touch me I’m always cold, I’m head strong, and I do truly love my sister and would do anything for her. If you have seen Frozen, which character do you feel like you relate to the most?
