Tribal Nation Series: School Tribal Outfit by teen fashion blog featuring blue jeans
Today I am starting the Tribal Nation series which is all about the tribal pattern. In the spring 2014 fashion week show, one of the trends for this spring was tribal. I think it is an interesting and very fun fashion trend that is very fitting for the spring since in my opinion, the tribal pattern looks better in brighter colors. When I think of tribal I think back to one of my childhood’s Halloween costumes where I dressed as an Indian because the dress had a tribal pattern. I am really excited to start doing outfits for this trend because the tribal pattern is very funky and it’s a lot of fun to play around with. I have been noticing the tribal trend in pretty much all of the stores I have been to recently. I already have four or five pieces in my closet with a tribal pattern, but I got them around the fall not so much to follow the trend but because I fell in love with the specific pattern.
I have also noticed the tribal pattern slowly creeping up among the halls at my school. I have been looking around at the clothes people are wearing and as the days go by, the more tribal patterns I see on shirts and tights. I can already tell that this spring I am going to see a lot of boho clothing at my school because along with the tribal pattern there are the head pieces and braids that the women wear on the hit show Reign. A quick tribal tip I wanted to share with you is that you don’t want to over do the pattern, too much tribal can cause your outfit to look like a costume.
I decided to start off with a tribal outfit that is perfect for school. This outfit definitely represents my style and is the type of outfit you would catch me wearing at school. Two nights ago one of my friends sent me a picture of her outfit. The outfit had a burgundy cardigan with a navy blue blouse inside, and a long necklace. She said that she created an Allyson outfit. The day after another one of my friends came in with a black cardigan and a white blouse and said she created an Allyson, that definitely put a smile on my face. This outfit has an orange cardigan with a tribal blouse inside. I loved this blouse because of the fun colors and the sheer fabrics. I made sure to include blue pants and an orange cardigan because they were colors found in the shirt and it didn’t look like too much color. I added orange sperrys because it went with the cardigan and because for some reason I think they are a very cute shoe. The jewelry is orange and blue as well, I know it sounds like there is a lot of those two colors but if you look at the outfit it’s not over done. One of my favorite pieces in the outfit would have to be the book bag. I really love the pattern and the colors in it, I just wish I could find a book bag like that in the stores I go to. Are you riding the tribal wagon yet?
Love the outfit, and how cute the photo is. Very original! I especially like the shirt, and the backpack.
